Apple Just Announced Stage Manager on the iPad
I was traveling during Apple's WWDC 2022 Keynote and missed watching it live. But I've just watched a 24 minutes recap of the event, and I'm excited about the new updates coming to the iPad.
Yes, I'm excited about the new iOS and M2 chip. But Stage Manager on the iPad did it for me — It was the thing that just blew my mind.
Before you get your hopes high, this isn't the multitasking we are looking for, but it will do for now, and it might be the best thing we get.
On a side note: Apple announced that they would be expanding maps to the Palestinian territories, a major win for many Palestinians, myself included.
Now, back to Stage Manager — we don't want to discuss everything announced in this keynote.
The expectations
Ever since the original iPad, people have been asking for macOS-like features. Apple made it clear that this would never happen — People asked for it nevertheless.
Later on, and after Apple announced its M1 chip, people decided that it was time to expect Mac apps on the iPad — If you are not familiar, the M1 chip is based on the same technology as the A chips in iOS devices.
